Krista & Paul // Into the Mountains

I grew up hiking in the mountains of northern California with my dad and brother. Many of my oldest memories are of that feeling simplicity and completeness that comes to me from stepping in the mountains.  The silent pull of nature is one of the main reasons I moved to Seattle 10 years ago.  I was excited when Krista, Paul and I decided on trekking to Mount Baker to capture their connection to each other. There is truly something magic and beyond words what can be seen in two people who deeply respect, value and trust each other.  Even those words fall short of that borderless interconnection.  I hope that my photos do justice to their love.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase “each other” doesn’t make any sense.
